Barbara Adamcik, Youth Director
Let
no one despise your youth, but set the believers an
example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in
purity. Put these things into practice, devote
yourself to them, so that all may see your progress.

Timothy 4:12, 15)
Guiding Principles
The people of St.
Elizabeth's recognize that our young people play a vital
role in our parish and the Church as a whole. We are committed to
providing a safe environment in which our youth will be
encouraged to explore and deepen their experience of God,
relating that experience to the challenges teenagers face
in our society today. We seek to equip our young
people for adult membership in the Church and the
community-at-large.
Schedule
Our program this year will
have a slightly different look, and with the help of the
youth, a new name! Our goal is to provide
opportunities to grow together as Christians, but to do so
in larger groups than before. We will have a Senior
High group (9th to 12th grades) and a Middle School groups
(6th to 8th grades). Here's what our schedule will
look like:
Sundays: 9-10 am
Sunday Morning Power Hour
Middle School: Faith in
Motion Series (learning about and strengthening
faith in today's world)
High School: Way to
Live, co-written by 8 teens and 8 adults.
(Growing in Christian practices. Topics include:
friends, choices, creativity, justice and music.)
4-6 pm: Sunday "Evening"
Fellowship and Fun: Middle and High School will
sometimes meet together and sometimes meet in their
separate groups.
6-6:30 pm: DINNER . . .
FEAST . . . FREE FOOD!
Wednesdays:
4:30 - 6:00 pm:
Barbara's "Office Hours"
Stop by the youth room to plan
events, do homework or chat a while.
6:15 - 6:45 pm: "Youth-arist"
Worship Service
In consultation with the
clergy, we are creating a contemporary Wednesday evening
service featuring our youth. We hope to have the
service designed by the end of September.
In addition to these regularly
scheduled activities, we are planning a mission trip over
spring break, and are looking at scheduling more
pilgrimages and adventures that are both local and
far-reaching.
