Children's Programs at St. Elizabeth's
As we encounter God in
prayer, in worship, in Eucharist and in one another, our
faith is energized, and we are moved in two directions:
inwardly, as our souls are drawn closer to God and our
spiritual life deepens; and outwardly, as our compassion
increases for our fellow human beings and indeed for all
creatures, we seek to serve the Christ we see in others.
At St. Elizabeth's, we seek to nurture the journey inward
in a variety of ways for children (as well as for youth
and adults).
The Nursery 9:00 am - 11:30 am
We seek to provide a nursery which is clean and safe, and
a nursery program which will nurture the lives of our
youngest family members. We attempt to strike a
balance between play on the one hand, and in the case of
toddlers, beginning to learn about God and God's love for
them. Separate nursery spaces are maintained for
infants and toddlers, to assure safety. Our staff
includes both adults and teenagers, all of whom have
received training in nursery procedures and CPR
Transition

Living the
Good News - an Episcopal Lectionary-based curriculum

introduce young children to Jesus. Free play is also

The Sunday School program you’ve been wanting for your
children:
Five-year curriculum plan for K-4 means a solid
foundation
Every child receives a Bible and learns to use it!
Service projects
Games verify what kids have learned and reward
success
Children’s chapel every week means kids “do church”
at their own level, learning the church’s history and
tradition through participation
The rotation system works like this:
3 weeks--kids rotate through three activities
related to one Bible story or theme
1 week--kids play games to check what they’ve
learned
1 week--kids watch a video before moving on to the
next theme.
T his
means that you can:
Sign up to teach the same lesson three Sundays in a
row (one rotation) to different groups of kids
Volunteer for one or more single Sundays on “game
day”. (You’ll be impressed by how much the kids learn!)
Turn the video on and supervise for one or more
Movie Sundays
Volunteer as a “shepherd” when you can, to provide
extra assistance with the younger children (ages 4-5)
Do you love crafts? Are you a great storyteller? Do you
miss your grandkids?
Like to bake? Have experience in theater? You have
special skills and talents to share! The children of St.
Elizabeth’s need you. Help raise the next generation in
faith.
