A brief note on the building expansion

To no one’s surprise the completion date has been pushed back to October 1, 2006. All else is going well it seems. Costs are in line with the budget. Soon there will be disruptions in the two sacristies as the East wall partitions are opened and replaced. Acolytes and chalice bearers will have to vest elsewhere for a time. A note will be posted. The altar guild sacristy should remain functional though perhaps a little messy. I am happy to answer any questions.         Charlie Gouffon

Construction of New Education Wing Begins!

After many years of fund-raising, planning and designing, on Sunday, May 21, the congregation gathered under a sunny sky behind the nave to break ground on our new education wing. The new wing, which will take about 16 weeks to build (weather permitting!), will include dedicated space for our youth as well as additional classrooms for the younger children.

It would be impossible to thank all of the people who have played a part in bringing this dream to fruition. For five years, a succession of Vestry members and wardens have supported this project. Numerous parishioners have offered their input and expertise. It is important to mention a couple people by name, however. Monty Pitts served as our first Building Committee chairman, and invested an enormous amount of time and energy in advancing the building program. Our current Building Committee chairman, Charlie Gouffon, picked up where Monty left off and brought our plans to completion. Our thanks go out to them and to all who have made our new wing possible. We look forward to a dedication ceremony sometime this fall.
